Yoga YES! Yes to the HOLISTIC Yoga
Commemoration of the Fourth International Day of Yoga
Yoga for Peace, Love and Harmony
Promoting Health and Happiness
at One Earth Retreat Centre, Ciawi, Bogor, Indonesia on April 28, 2018

As part of the 4th International Day of Yoga celebration, Anand Ashram Foundation supported by the Embassy of India Jakarta and Jawaharlal Nehru Indian Cultural Centre (JNICC), is organizing a series of pre-events in Ciawi, Yogyakarta and Ubud (Bali).

The main theme of the event, said Mr Makrand Shukla, Director of JNICC on behalf of Indian Embassy in Jakarta, is “Ten Cities, Ten Days, Bringing Together Twenty Thousand Yoga Lovers, Promoting Health and Happiness through Yoga.”

Joehanes Budiman, Executive Director of Anand Ashram Foundation added, “It is an honor that second pre-event, as the curtain raiser, is being held today on April 28 in our One Earth Retreat Centre in Ciawi.”

The next pre-event, also supported by the Yogyakarta City Government, will be held at the City Hall Complex Yogya on May 5, 2018. And, the grand finale of the series will be held at Anand Ashram Ubud – Bali on June 16, 2018.

The event in One Earth Retreat Centre was attended by more than 250 enthusiastic participants from all walks of life, including the Yoga communities from Jakarta, Bogor, Ciawi, Sentul and Lampung.

Common yoga protocol

Renowned Spiritual Humanist and author of more than 170 books to date, Anand Krishna, founder of Anand Ashram spoke on Yoga as a Holistic Life Style. “Not only a set of physical exercises, yoga also includes meditation for mental peace, healthy diet and lifestyle, sharpening of the intelligence and selfless service for the betterment of society,”

A message from the Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendera Modi was read out, in which he emphasizing on the benefits of yoga if practised as a lifestyle.

After the mass yoga session in compliance with the Universal Yoga Protocol, and a meditation session for relaxation and emotion culturing, the event in Ciawi was closed with a cultural presentation, celebrating the most ancient and still thriving Sunda Sindhu Saraswati Civilisation
